Who doesn’t love the cheese burger, soda and fried fries?
Well, For all you women out there, think again before you decide what you want to eat because it may impact not only your physical health but your emotional health as well. According to a study published in the American Journal of Psychiatry, women who typically consume junk food are more likely to suffer from mood disorders such as depression.
This research has been validated by researchers who made psychiatric evaluations of around 1000 women ranging between the age range of 20 -93 over 10 years and also generated data on these participants daily dietary habits. The findings revealed that women who consume a diet high in white bread, burgers, pizza, chips, beer and beverages like sodas etc were 50% more likely to suffer from depression or anxiety than their counterparts who did not consume such a diet. Additionally, research results showed that women who consumed a healthier diet that is the diet high in vegetables, fish, fruits, lamb, fish and whole grains, had 30% less probability of developing such mood disorders.
It reminds me of one of the quotes by Buddha which says” Every human being is the author of his own health or disease”. It looks like there can be no better way of taking control than the present and alter our dietary choices to move on to a more wholesome and health lifestyle.
