Business never stops right?
So what does that mean for the environment when we are shipping packages all over the world?
Exactly, a whole lot of packing materials, often made from synthetic chemicals or non-renewable resources.
Until now.
Now there is a company call Ecovative leading the way in eco-friendly packaging materials.
What is most interesting about Ecovative is that they do not “make” their packaging materials, they “grow them!”
That’s right, their packaging is made out of mushrooms! Molds are made for whatever packaging piece they are building and then the mushrooms actually grow to into the form of the mold. Very cool
And the best part is after you remove your package, you can compost it, plant it as fertilizer or just throw it away and not feel bad because it will decompose very quickly!
Ecovative Designs also makes an eco friendly insulation suitable for use in homes and their designs and company is starting to get some really great exposure.
